Senior Vice President of International Markets
Powin Energy
Tualatin, Oregon, United States
Danny Lu is Senior Vice President of International Markets at Oregon-based Powin, a global energy storage platform provider with projects deployed across four continents. Danny’s interest in renewable energy started in second grade when he made a wind turbine for a school science fair. This early curiosity was further fueled by his travels to China with his father, the founder of Powin, during which he gained valuable insights into international business, supply chains and manufacturing plants. After earning a degree in international business and Chinese from the University of Portland, Danny started working at Powin, eventually rising through the ranks to lead the teams to focus exclusively on batteries, laying out the framework for what Powin is today.
In 2022, less than a year into his business development role, Danny independently secured a tremendous deal for Powin in Australia to build the world’s largest battery in New South Wales- the Waratah Super Battery. Danny enjoys exercise, travel and golf. He hopes to see Powin grow into a pivotal household name in the energy transition. Danny lives with his wife and french bulldog in the Portland metropolitan area.
