Expert Product Manager, Vehicle-Grid Integration
Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Oakland, California, United States
Kristin Landry is an Expert Product Manager on the Vehicle-Grid Integration (VGI) team at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), where she is committed to deploying bidirectional electric vehicle (EV) charging as part of a grid that supports electrification, reliability, and resiliency. PG&E aims to support 3 million EVs by 2030 with 2 million of those participating in some form of VGI - through rates, managed charging (V1G), or vehicle-to-grid (V2G) use cases.
Landry's first foray into bringing emerging technologies into the clean energy economy was in energy efficiency, conducting product and market research to help utilities and their regulators strengthen their program portfolio strategy. She went on to serve as a Senior Regulatory Analyst at the California Public Utilities Commission working on interconnection and collaborating with the Transportation Electrification team as it pertains to EVs providing power back to the grid.
Landry now uses her understanding of the interconnection process to inform PG&E's Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Pilots and projects with automotive manufacturers. She is ushering in the first vehicle-to-home (V2H) backup systems and moving the industry toward grid-tied applications so that mobile energy storage can act as an asset to the electric grid.
Landry holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. She also remains involved with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute since completing their fellowship program in 2018 and helping to launch the Empowering Diverse Climate Talent (EDICT) Summer Internship Program in 2021.
