We are at the cusp of an EV transition, with more customers, manufacturers, and states recognizing and anticipating the impending mass adoption of EVs. For this transition to be successful, policy makers and utilities must proactively plan for this massive new source of electricity consumption. Fortunately, EVs have the potential to not just take power from the grid, but also provide services back to the grid through Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. These rolling battery packs can be leveraged to provide peak load reduction, energy arbitrage, and power quality support. This panel will explore the challenges associated with this transition, highlighting experiences of fleet managers and OEMs as they seek to navigate the regulatory process to unlock these resources.
