Avery Palmer

Avery Palmer is Communications Projects Director at the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). He is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of several flagship projects to advance the organization’s mission and contribute to the success of its programs. He was previously the Communications Director at The Solar Foundation, where he led outreach campaigns for the National Solar Jobs Census, SolSmart, the Puerto Rico initiative, and other major programs. Avery previously led communications at the Violence Policy Center, a national gun violence prevention organization. He also has many years of experience as a journalist, including as an environment and energy reporter at Congressional Quarterly. Avery grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and has a Bachelor’s Degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
