A 20-year power industry veteran, Taylor Dodson has led the development, engineering, construction, and operations management of Air Insulated Substations (AIS), Gas Insulated Substations(GIS), transmission lines, utility infrastructure, solar farms, energy storage, and wind farm projects.
Taylor has played a critical role in constructing, commissioning, and maintaining over 10 GW of renewable and energy storage projects.
At SOLV Energy, Taylor has built an EPC high voltage and energy storage team that is licensed in 32 states. He manages a team of over 50 project managers, engineers, and construction professionals responsible for constructing the grid connected renewable and storage projects. Together, he and his team have built over 100 interconnections for projects over the past nine years. He works with SOLV’s O&M team to enhance power systems operational expertise with a heavy focus on recruitment, process development, safety training, and technical education programs.
Taylor is focused on DEI&J organically through hiring and work practices. Taylor brought focus to HBCU’s while working at Swinerton prior to the transition to SOLV Energy and continues to work with NC A&T as a source for top talent in the industry. Additionally, he was a guest speaker on a podcast episode to share some best practices on the topic with Spencer Ogden’s Mindy Prefling.
Taylor is a Quaker, a member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, NFPA, Solar Energy Industries Association, a supporter of WRISE (Women in Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy), and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina. He has his B.S. EE from North Carolina State University and is a graduate of the Leadership Denver class of 2023.
