Dr. Tim Brown is President and Founder of FirstElement Fuel and is responsible for the Company’s innovation and technology roadmap, next generation station design, external technical partnerships, and safety. Dr. Brown also serves on FirstElement Fuel’s Board of Directors.
Previously, Dr. Brown led a sustainable transportation research group at the University of California, Irvine (“UCI”) and managed the operation of the UCI and Orange County Sanitation District hydrogen station. Dr. Brown helped develop the 68 hydrogen station plan for California, which was referenced in the California Fuel Cell Partnerships’ Roadmap document. As a hydrogen thought-leader, he’s authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles on hydrogen infrastructure and alternative transportation and has spoken at scores of invited lectures. Prior to his time at UCI, Dr. Brown worked in automotive fuel system testing at General Motors for 6 years.
Dr. Brown has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science in Automotive Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Irvine.
