Director of Policy and Solutions Partnerships
Virtual Peaker
Boulder, Colorado, United States
Kirsten has devoted the past decade to decarbonizing the energy industry. With tenure at Pacific Gas and Electric, Tendril/Uplight, and RMI, Kirsten’s role at Virtual Peaker is to support sales efforts with complementary companies, like CLEAResult, and positively influence distributed energy resource policy and regulation. Kirsten’s insights from working at a utility, at a nonprofit think tank, and in the software sector enables her to have a balanced view of what’s possible, what’s likely, and what’s necessary. Her career highlights include responding to more than 100 energy efficiency or demand management RFPs, evaluating the best TOU rate structure, and facilitating net metering negotiations. With Virtual Peaker, Kirsten is all in on demand flexibility and virtual power plants, building solutions partnerships and winning deals that use software to go beyond traditional demand response. Kirsten has a BA from Whitman College and an MBA and MEM from Duke University. She is based in Boulder, Colorado, but she’s temporarily relocated her family to the Seattle area during a kitchen remodel—hello induction cooktop!
