Master Speaker Session: The Will of the State: The Opportunity for Greater State-Level Action in Enabling a Clean Energy Transition

It is easy to lose sight of the importance of state-level policymaking when energy issues are consistently spoken about at a national level. Despite often having a national focus, energy policy in the U.S. has, and will continue to be, largely dictated by state policies and markets. In this Master Speaker Series session, Former Nevada Governor, Steve Sisolak, and CEO of NEXTracker, Dan Shugar, will engage in a moderated discussion surrounding state-level leadership on clean energy legislation and the impact of enabling policy can have on the renewable industry. Specifically, this discussion will focus on the importance of states asserting their constitutional authority to make effective energy policy that can help mitigate climate change, build profitable industries, and promote equity and opportunity in local communities.
