Extending the Remaining Useful Lifetime of EV Batteries in Stationary Second-Life Applications

Aged EV batteries can still be used in stationary second-life applications. Within the two projects EMILAS and PIONEER such approaches are investigated for increased PV self-sufficiency, for peak shaving and for enabling flexible charging of electric vehicles.
Fast and reliable methods for quailification of used EV batteries are crucial in this context. The presented approaches are based on the analyses and evaluation of the available battery managament data in combination with pulse tests.
Furthermore the methods have to provide information on the remaining useful lifetime, which is the basis for a proper design of the corresponding business model.
