Microgrids of All Sizes: Shaping the Grid of the Future

While microgrids come in all sizes and can be applied to all types of applications, the core technologies used are often similar. The core functionality of microgrids prescribes the essential technologies used for their power generation, storage, distribution and the essential conversion/management in the complete power system. This session will explore three (3) very diverse microgrid applications that all utilize common hybrid AC/DC topologies. All three-employ dc-coupling in their buss structure, but include both ac and dc inputs and outputs, making them highly efficient and versatile.
