Description and Background: The employee market is in many ways like any other market: supply and demand reigns. Right now, renewable energy is in a state of extremely high demand for talent and low supply, leaving many employers strapped for workers. To hire valuable employees, companies must use increasingly fluid and flexible offerings that focus more on the employee and their identification with the company’s mission, rather than the tools of yesterday. Developing those offerings requires agility and a different frame of mind.
Employers struggling to find and retain top talent will benefit by hearing about ways recruiting and HR resources can be strengthened to build employer branding and employee culture that not only gets people in the door but keeps the good talent around. This includes tackling the hard questions, like how do we handle the questions of remote and hybrid work? How do we build culture with a dispersed workforce? How do we build equity, inclusion, and belonging into our culture so under-represented people stay with us? How do I give employees what they want and also make sure business gets done and my customers are happy?
