Analytics Team Engineering Manager EnergyHub Brooklyn, New York, United States
Description and Background: Salt River Project (SRP) is committed to adding 500,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in its territory to flexibility programs by 2035. SRP partnered with EnergyHub to deploy an EVSE Pilot designed to meet customers’ diverse charging needs while managing system impacts.
SRP’s EV Flex Charge Pilot is designed to deliver scalable strategies for managing grid impacts that put customer satisfaction first. SRP recruited 250 residential customers for the pilot. Participants allow SRP to adjust power levels during periods of high electric demand through control of customers’ Level 2 chargers, and SRP is testing various incentives and charging parameters to zero in on a program design that maximizes customer satisfaction while meeting utility objectives.
SRP will share pilot learnings and results to date. SRP will also report on plans for the evolution of its managed charging programs, including demand response and expansion beyond the residential sector.
