Mac is a senior analyst supporting SEPA’s Research and Industry Strategy group. He joined SEPA in 2017 and has supported SEPA’s Annual Utility Survey, Utility Transformation Challenge, and subsequent industry reports, along with a range of additional research projects focused on utility decarbonization, grid modernization, and electrification. Mac has worked on a number of topics including; managed charging, vehicle-to-everything, DERMS, and more recently he has focused on microgrids. Mac has supported SEPA's various state and utility-wide microgrid feasibility studies and he is one of the staff leads for SEPA’s Microgrids Working Group, which looks to identify new business models, explore regulatory and financial innovations, address gaps in standards, and define use cases that drive new system requirements to help energy industry stakeholders assess the implementation of microgrids.
