Thad Culley is Director of Public Policy for Sunrun covering regulatory matters in the Southeast and the mid-Atlantic. Prior to joining Sunrun in March 2021, Thad served as a regualtory lawyer and Senior Regional Director for Vote Solar, covering state solar policy issues in the Carolinas and Virginia. Prior to joining Vote Solar in 2017, Thad was a partner at the Oakland-based law firm Keyes & Fox, LLP where he worked on distributed generation issues including net metering, rate design, and interconnection. Thad graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in History in 1999 and earned his J.D. from Tulane Law School, with a certificate in Environmental Law, in 2010. Thad has a law license in North Carolina, South Carolina, and California (inactive) and is a Board Certified Specialist in Utilities Law in North Carolina. Thad lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
