Dr. Cook has been on staff at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) since 2014 as the Acting Subprogram Manager of Solar Analysis within the Strategic Energy Analysis Center. Dr Cook's work focuses on solar photovoltaic markets including corporate procurement, community solar, and underserved markets including low- and moderate-income households. Dr. Cook also analyzes opportunities for reducing photovoltaic installation costs in the residential market including streamlining permitting, inspection, and interconnection costs through his leadership of the SolarAPP+. Dr. Cook received his doctorate in political science in 2017 from Colorado State University, where his work focused on energy and environmental regulatory proceedings. Prior to joining NREL, Dr. Cook was a research associate at the Center for the New Energy Economy, where he focused on advanced energy market opportunities across the states.
