As Vice President of Technical Services, Evelyn leads SEIA’s work on technical regulations and policy advocacy that facilitate the solar industry’s continued rapid growth and to mitigate business risks for its members.
Her responsibilities include the national model and state building and energy codes, regulations, and product standards for solar and storage, promoting safety and quality and reducing regulatory burden. She is directly involved in the development and commercialization of the NREL’s Solar Automated Permit Processing Plus (SolarAPP+) software program that enables instant permitting of residential solar. She manages SEIA’s workforce development initiatives to ensure the industry will have an adequate supply of skilled workers and advance SEIA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice goals. She leads the industry’s Environmental and Social Governance and Sustainability efforts to ensure responsible supply chains and sustainable end-of-life strategies for solar and storage equipment.
Prior to SEIA, Evelyn worked at UL LLC, leading its global solar industry strategy, international business development and service portfolio management. Bringing together product safety and performance standards development, innovation, testing, safety certification with a broader, integrative industry view that enabled many solar companies to access markets more effectively.
