Bill Burwell is the Deputy Executive Director for SelectUSA.
Prior to joining SelectUSA, Bill was the Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center (USEAC) serving Maryland. The USEAC assisted firms to increase international sales and global business operations.
Prior to joining the U.S. Export Assistance Center, Bill was Senior Manager at the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In this position Bill directed research on international and domestic issues affecting U.S. manufacturing and small business competitiveness.
Additionally, Bill has held consulting positions with NASA and the Department of Defense, and he took a break from government service to serve as Vice-President of Business Development at a business-to-business start-up company, providing marketing partnerships, brand management, and strategic alliance development services.
Bill holds an MBA from Clark University and a B.A. in Political Science from Drew University.
