Michelle Simpson is the Vice President of Clean Energy and Critical Materials Recycling at Okon Recycling (formerly Okon Metals), where she leads the development and expansion of Okon's capabilities to serve the energy transition by offering sustainable end-of-life solutions for permanent magnets, solar panels, and wind turbine components. Michelle’s 30+ years of industry experience has centered around delivering technologies to the market, with roles including product development, technical service, product management, intellectual property strategy & management, and productivity. Michelle’s technology and product experiences include wind turbine repairs and maintenance, gas turbine repairs, environmental monitoring, ePTFE membranes, specialty epoxy adhesives, and polyolefins. Just prior to joining Okon, Michelle led teams responsible for developing and implementing technologies and processes to improve the safety, reliability, and cost of operations, repair, and maintenance of 30,000 wind turbines for a major wind turbine OEM. In that role, she had the privilege to lead the development and implementation of the first large-scale wind turbine blade recycling capabilities in the US, resulting in thousands of blades recycled to date. Michelle holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, is a Registered US Patent Agent, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.
