Tolu Omotoso is the Director of Energy Solutions at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), an organization the represents the intersts of over 900 electric coperatives serving over 42 milion Americans across 48 states. He is NRECA’s technical lead on Distributed Energy Resources (DER) with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Microgrids. He leads NRECA’s DER Member Advisory Group (DER MAG) whose mission is to promote DER technologies and practices to enable implementation and application by electric cooperatives. He also leads NRECA's microgrid consortium - a group of electric cooperatives looking to leverage federal funding opportunites available via IIJA/IRA to deploy microgrids and other clean energy technoligies.
