Jordan is the Director, Energy Government Relations at Sussex Strategy Group where he brings 15 years of energy experience and a deep understanding of policy, regulatory, and market structures. He provides clients with counsel to help navigate and understand complex regulatory environments, strategies to help anticipate and inform government policy, and successfully meet their corporate objectives in an evolving energy sector.
Prior to joining Sussex, Jordan worked at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for more than a decade where he held a number of senior positions, including in government affairs, stakeholder and community engagement, and Indigenous relations. In these roles he was responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to inform energy related policies at all levels of government. He has been involved in program development and delivery, procurement and market design, and built relationships with energy sector stakeholders – including executives, associations, government officials, community leaders, and not-for profit organizations.
Prior to joining the IESO, Jordan worked at Queen’s Park where he advised three consecutive Ministers of Energy on the development of legislation and electricity sector policy. He also worked for the Government House Leader and the Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal, and built an understanding of grass roots fundamentals working on several provincial and federal political campaigns, including as a campaign manager.
Jordan holds an Honours BA in Political Science with a Minor in Environmental Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University.
