Dr. Tassos Golnas is a Technology Manager for the Photovoltaics program at the DOE Solar Energy Technologies Office where he oversees a number of federally funded projects spanning the areas of solar forecasting, resource assessment, performance modeling, and system reliability. His interests include open source software and machine learing. He began his solar career at SunEdison in 2008 where he led activities and teams in the areas of technology evaluation, automated event detection, inverter control, system reliability, and performance reporting and optimization. Prior to SunEdison he worked in the semiconductor equipment and photonics industries as an R&D manager and engineer. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and has lived in Maryland since 2007.
