James Mater co-founded and has held several executive positions at QualityLogic from June 1994 to present. He is currently Co-Founder and Director of Strategy, Smart Grid, leading QualityLogic's Smart Grid strategy and new business development. He contributes to the industry as a speaker, consultant and contributor to industry communications standards activities. Most recently, he has focused on the emerging EV communications area, giving workshops and talks on V2G standardization and EV-EVSE communications. James is the current Chair of the V2G Forum, past Chair of GridForward and Emeritus Member of GWAC. He and QualityLogic are participants in the IEEE 1547 WG, CPUC SIWG, UL 1741 STP, UL 1741 SB/SC, IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR Alliance, SunSpec Alliance, MESA Test and Certification WG, SAE J3072 and EPRI IWC among other activities. From 2001 to October, 2008, James oversaw QualityLogic as President and CEO. From 1994 to 1999, he founded and built Revision Labs, which merged with Genoa Technologies to become QualityLogic. Prior to QualityLogic, Mater held Product Management roles at Tektronix, Floating Point Systems, Sidereal and Solar Division of International Harvester. James holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Reed College, Portland, OR, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
