Konrad Schmitt received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2019. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, USA. His technical expertise is in the field of power distribution systems, where he has been creating and developing solutions to improve reliability, continuity, quality, and safety of power delivery. His research background is in distribution networks reconfiguration, self-healing, outage restoration and management, state estimation, Volt/VAr, and Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation. Mr. Schmitt has been an active IEEE Power & Energy Society volunteer since 2017, where he has held positions at branch, section, region, and global levels, besides contributing to IEEE Standards.
