Synopsis:
“Light” takes us on a journey, in a classic land rover defender, with a passionate team, into the last mile region of Northern Kenya. There we discover the impact that portable solar light has on students who live without electricity access. At the same time learning the challenges these students face in getting an education.
Director Statement: This film is important to me as it's based on 4 years of work, and research on how portable solar light can impact students who live without electricity. I am proud to be sharing my second documentary film with audiences, to share the stories and impacts from solar light from the students in Northern Kenya. We have a wonderful international team that worked on this film from; Kenya, Spain, Australia, Canada and USA. We hope that the film will raise greater awareness on electricity inequality, as well as inspire audiences with the determination despite the lack of energy access, shared from the students featured in the film.
