Cybersecurity for Distributed Energy Systems: The Need for Appropriate Solutions

Traditional IT security solutions were not designed to protect cyber-physical systems. As a result, we need to adopt well-suited solutions in order to meet reliability, security, and cost objectives.

This talk will educate the audience on the different approaches to cybersecurity for distributed energy. Why deploying traditional IT security solutions is inappropriate for asset owners, and the benefits of using Operational technology (OT)-specific cybersecurity solutions. The talk will also cover the different types of OT-specific cybersecurity solutions available, and how to choose the right solution.
