Companies that plan to maintain the performance of a project’s battery energy storage system (BESS) over its lifetime at some point will need to add additional storage capacity, called battery augmentation. Augmentation, however, is not straightforward and easy to figure out. There are design considerations, codes and standards to follow and various approaches to take to add additional battery storage.
